Biography
Michelle Drummy is an artist and educator from San Diego, California. She is currently a graduate student in the San Diego State University Master of Fine Arts program. She received her BFA from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2010 and returned home that year to San Diego to teach art. She is Chairperson of the Visual and Performing Arts Department at St. Augustine High School where she teaches drawing, painting and AP Art and Design. Her work focuses on mental states. She explores the science behind mental illness as well as drawing from her own personal experiences to create pieces that honor both perspectives. She uses a variety of different media including but not limited to drawing, painting and photography. She has had solo shows at the University of California, Santa Barbara (2010) and San Diego State University (2019).
